To Get Rid of Cockroaches in a Worm Bin you should remove the foods they're attracted to.
They are omnivores but really like the rotting nitrogen (kitchen scraps) and other rotting vegetation.
Pull out any large pieces of kitchen scraps and add plenty of carbon material, such as, shredded newsprint, carboard, coco coir, etc.
Sprinkle a generous amount of Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE) on top of the shredded carbon and cover with a few sheets of newsprint. Sprinkle more DE on top of the sheets of newsprint. Make sure the worm bedding/castings still remain moist but not wet underneath.
You will need to continue to do this until the cockroach eggs have hatched and all adults and juveniles have died.
This could last 1 week up to a month. But it all depends on how severe your situation is.
Avoid any chemicals or natural remedies that can harm your worms or microbes, such as oils, detergents, cedar, cinnamon, etc.
The DE will work. You just need to be patient. If you have cockroaches in your house, Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth will kill every insect on the planet. Perform a light dusting to kill or deter them.
Hope this helps. I have tons of info and videos on Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth, including in my books.
My friend wants to lay in the mud on her stomach to look for worms. Can she do that and will the worms come out if she's laying on top of them or does she have to wait for them to come out? Then lay in the mud to get them?
